YouTube approaches video advertising through opt-in ads program named TrueView. TrueView includes two types of ads: in-stream and video discovery. With in-stream ads, the viewer only has to watch the first five seconds and then can skip the rest of the ad. The supplier pays only in case the user watched over 30 seconds or clicked on an entity on the screen related to the ad. Video discovery ads are advertisement videos listed on the page along with other content and charged for only when the user clicks on them. According to Alphabet's latest quarterly report, TrueView ads were one of the YouTube's revenue growth drivers for the quarter. YouTube is not selected as a separate reported entity in the company's reports and is a part of Google websites segment. Google websites' revenue for the third quarter of 2016 is $16,089 million, which is $3,002 million more than in the same quarter of 2015.

If you really love making video content, consider doing it as a side hustle – something to beef up your resume, find a creative outlet or boost your professional profile in the area about which you broadcast. When it comes to making it big on YouTube, "It's obviously becoming more challenging as there are more creators out there, and everyone is fighting for an audience," Vaught says. "But the barriers to entry are also lower."
Rasheed keywords are everything! Here’s a quick explanation for you: Say you’ve got a great video about funny things to do on a hoverboard. If you upload that video with no keywords and the title “pic0293.mov” Google is going to have no clue what that video is about so no one will ever find it unless they search for “pic0293.mov” (which I doubt has ever been searched once on YouTube. But if you do some research and upload you video titled “5 Funny Things To Do On Your Hoverboard” and use keywords like “hoverboard” “funny video” “best hoverboard videos” “[insert some brands of hoverboards]” “best hoverboard” “hoverboard handstand” etc. and also put those keywords in your video description, Google will know exactly what your video is about and will be able to show your video to anyone who searches those things.

The best part is that you can create a blog on anything you are passionate about. Once you create a blog you can monetize it by hosting ads, or offering free content in exchange for email subscribers that you can later sell to.

This ensures you retain transparency and trust with your readers, but also, it's required by the FTC's endorsement rules.
