After all, relatability is a YouTuber’s greatest asset — along with a willingness to keep plugging away. “If you’re passionate about it, you really increase your chances of success,” says Asano. “It’s a lot of work. To produce just one video, you need camera equipment, a computer to edit it on, and time. And if you’re just starting out, you’re not going to get paid for a while because you need to build your subscribers. Don’t do it because you think you’re going to make an easy buck, because it’s not.”
All this is not to say that YouTube is in trouble. Revenue is growing even if the profits aren’t increasing at the same pace, and growth is better than nothing. There are also some secondary benefits to YouTube for Google. The company pulls in more user data the longer users stay in the Googleverse, which includes YouTube, and that data helps it market more efficiently across all its platforms. Google can afford to be patient while YouTube figures out how to make a profit.
Rasheed keywords are everything! Here’s a quick explanation for you: Say you’ve got a great video about funny things to do on a hoverboard. If you upload that video with no keywords and the title “pic0293.mov” Google is going to have no clue what that video is about so no one will ever find it unless they search for “pic0293.mov” (which I doubt has ever been searched once on YouTube. But if you do some research and upload you video titled “5 Funny Things To Do On Your Hoverboard” and use keywords like “hoverboard” “funny video” “best hoverboard videos” “[insert some brands of hoverboards]” “best hoverboard” “hoverboard handstand” etc. and also put those keywords in your video description, Google will know exactly what your video is about and will be able to show your video to anyone who searches those things.
The one possible exception to this rule might be if you have already built up fame in another role first. In that situation, you could probably easily migrate your existing fans or audience to your new video channel. If for example, you are already known as a successful blogger and have already succeeded at monetizing your blog, then it wouldn’t be difficult to market your YouTube channel to your current readers.
Nice writing style Ben. I’m finding out very quickly that to make any money writing, you have to read, read, and then read some more, no matter how smart you feel you are on a subject, before writing your first sentence. I have always been a fan of multiple income streams and am thrilled by the ideas of proofreading, editing, blogging, freelancing and transcribing. Having spent one of my careers doing just that for a large corporation, it’s a perfect fit, but now I can get credit for my work, thanks again for a great article.
For example, if you register for free with Textbroker.com and submit a writing sample, you’ll receive a rating based on your content quality. Finally, when looking around for the right personal finance software that meets your needs, make sure that you’re comfortable with the program’s interface. It shouldn’t be expected that you recognize every single feature instantly, but if the features don’t seem readable and manageable to you, then you’re not as likely to use it and get the full benefits.
My advice is to model something that already works. DO NOT try and be creative in the beginning. You can get all fancy and creative once you're rich. Emulate before you innovate. A good direction would be look for strategies that are pretty stable and haven't changed much over the years. Because you don't want to invest all this time and resources into some magical hypey fly-by-night strategy.
Those are all websites that I personally grew from the ground up. Notice something interesting? I don’t actually sell anything at all. So how could I possibly earn a full-time income from those website? Well, that’s something I get into during this training corse. But in short, by providing high quality and free information for people, I receive a ton of free and highly targeted traffic from search engine, at which point I’m able to advertise for my affiliate partners. Even if only 1% or 2% of my free website visitors makes a purchase through on of my affiliate partners, I’m doing pretty well. This is in addition to the display advertising I have which earns me additional revenues.
While some might think that starting a blog is an arduous effort, when you understand the precise steps you need to take, it becomes far easier. It all starts in the decision of choosing a profitable niche and picking the right domain name. From there, you need to build your offers. You can easily sell things like mini-email courses, full-blown trainings, ebooks, and so on.
Affiliate marketing is often touted as a "get rich quick scheme" by shady sites offering pyramid schemes that promise quick cash for little effort. Make no mistake—successful affiliate marketers like Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income put in a lot of effort toward building an audience and creating quality content that will bring in sustainable passive income. Expect to do a lot of legwork up front—but if you play your cards right, you can build a solid source of revenue over time.
tomlgfouremom …so with that logic, you’re saying that roughly ONLY 319 people in the US have become rich by messing with youtube in some way? You really are a certain kind of special aren’t you. The top 1000 hell maybe even 10,000 or more youtube account holders are what most people would consider rich in some part due to youtube…so please tell me where you get your low standards from. Don’t believe BS that people tell you, especially when it’s negative, if someone says it can’t be done, it only means it can’t be done in THEIR mind, doesn’t mean it’s impossible, or even close to impossible. If you love something, go for it, jump, and maybe you might land on the other side…regardless if you do or not, there’s no loss. You either die doing what you loved for most of your life, or you died rich doing what you love….so screw the negativity!

Promote services. Think of the services you use and that your readers are likely to use. For example, a parenting blogger could promote child care or tutoring services. With services, you are likely to earn repeat commissions as visitors to your blog may purchase from the service on a recurring basis. Typical commissions for service affiliate programs range from 15 percent to 30 percent. Some service affiliate programs may pay even higher commissions, depending on what the service is.
Robert said he did an average of 4-6 of these gigs per year for a while depending on his schedule and the work involved. The best part is, he charged a flat rate that usually worked out to around $100 per hour. And remember, this was pay he was earning to advise people on the best ways to use social media tools like Facebook and Pinterest to grow their brands.
